Make Buying Easy for Everyone

Buying Should be Easy

As Pie

Today, I’m going to talk about a subject near and dear to my heart.   It’s one any Marketing Director or business owner can overlook.   The reason is simple.   We get so wrapped up in what we’re selling we forget about the people we’re reaching.   Let me ask you a question……..

How easy it to buy from you?

E-mail Marketing continues to deliver more ROI than a lemonade stand on a hot summer day.   With the click of a button you will get your message in front of the right people at the right time.   I’m sure your copy is top notch.   I have no doubt your offer and call-to-action are on the money.

But what about the “buying step”? Is it a hassle to buy from you or easy as pie?   Here are three key elements to making buying easier through your e-mail campaigns.

Key Element #1: Choose the Easiest Path

The best tool I have seen is a landing page dedicated to completing a purchase.   All one has to do is click on a link and the page appears.   The instructions are simple with short copy.   Your buying instructions should be so easy a fifth grader could follow them.

Key Element #2: Restate the Benefits

The attention span of a Goldfish is eight seconds.   The attention span of a person is seven seconds.   On your buying landing page, restate the benefits of their purchase.   List any free bonuses you promised.   Restate any guarantees you have made.   This step gives buyers logical reasons to close the sale.

Key Element #3: Make Payment Easy

How do you want buyers to pay?   Buying online is easy, so people want to use their credit cards.   It doesn’t matter if it’s credit cards or Pay Pal, make it easy.   The harder it is to buy the less sales you will get.
